This is a Pre-School Apprentice role for someone who would like to gain experience on the job. This is an ideal opportunity to join an Outstanding Pre-School based in Middleton. You will be required to deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 2-4 years and ensure the nursery is a safe environment for children.

What will the apprentice be doing?

• Able to care for and supervise the children, regarding their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
• Work with the other staff team on planning and preparation of activities to meet children's individual needs.
• Provide positive management of children's behaviour.
• Be involved in the preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment.
• Supervise meals/snack times
• Adhere to the Policies & Procedures of Burnside Pre-School and compliance with the guidelines of Ofsted

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

• Will undertake Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food safety courses.
• To have a Level 2 Early Years qualification and working towards a Level 3 Early Years qualification.
• To undertake Functional Skills in maths and English, if not already achieved.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

• Support in finding secured employment

• GCSE English (Grade 4) desirable
• GCSE Maths (Grade 4) desirable
• BTEC (Level 2) Early Years (Grade Pass) essential
