Police plan to use drones in fight against crime and anti-social behaviour

Drones will be used to photograph offenders and could even track them to their home address

Drones could follow yobs back to their homes as part of a new police trial to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
Greater Manchester Police is forming a new drone unit and is currently training officers to use eye-in-the-sky technology to thwart crooks.

The Made Smarter North West launch took place as part of Digital Manufacturing Week and the Manufacturers Leaders’ Summit. Present were several North West SMEs who already have developed or deployed IDT within their manufacturing processes. These included Rochdale’s Crystal Doors, a vinyl door manufacturer which uses robotics, 3D modelling and hi-tech dust extraction technology across their operations.
