'Pawsome' national award for Rochdale dog groomers

Date published: 08 June 2024

A Rochdale dog grooming company got a surprise after winning first prize at The Great British Grooming Show. Brightmoor Luxury Dog Grooming, based on Fieldhouse Industrial Estate, won the ‘experienced beginners’ prize for their grooming and styling skills.

Judges hand out this particular award to those who are experienced in their field but have never competed in the big national awards before.

Rebecca Graham who accepted the award told Rochdale Online how she’d entered impulsively and had no expectation whatsoever of winning.

She said: “When the judges called my name and announced us as the winner I hadn’t even noticed. I was so sure that we wouldn’t have won that I wasn’t even tuned in to what was being said. My friend had to nudge me to go up and collect the award.”

She added: “We’ve never gone in for anything like this before so it was really unexpected. I think I entered in a moment of madness not really thinking we’d get anywhere.

“The judges give really good feedback so at the very least I thought I’d be able to learn something new from them. To come away as a winner was really great.”

Brightmoor opened its doors in June 2017 with the aim to provide tailored, individual, stress free and high-quality grooming services to the owners and dogs of Rochdale. The local groomers is 100% natural and prides itself on using natural cruelty free and chemical free products.
