Middleton Popstars Academy

Policies

There are a list of policies that we follow at the bottom of this page, however, if you are a young person or parent interested in getting involved in The Middleton Popstars, we would like you to pay special attention to the young peoples general terms and conditions set out below.

Young people general terms and conditions;

The following general terms have been written so that there are no misunderstandings regarding the rules and regulations of Popstars. In many ways this simple policy is in place to protect young people, staff and volunteers. The other policies listed below are another example of this approach.

The general terms and conditions of membership can be read online, however please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like a full copy of any of the other policies. These policies are available to potential members, funding bodies and existing members by email or post if you prefer.

Terms and conditions

Our approach to you: just like many other organisations that work with young people we are legally obliged to abide by the child protection laws, and naturally we take a certain amount of responsibility for every young person that we work with. A full version of our child protection policy is available for inspection by request.

What we expect from you; as a member you would need to know that at no time would we accept any alcohol, smoking or drugs on or near the premise or at any show or event by any young person. Any young person who does not abide by these rules would be asked to leave. We would like full support from parents in this matter.

Becoming a member; to become a member you would need to be part of our group for 6 weeks and after that if you felt that Popstars is for you a membership form would need to be signed and children under 14 would need parent consent.

Membership; All members of Popstars are expected to follow Popstars etiquette and respect other members at all times. When visiting other events to perform you must be on your best behaviour at all times.

Photographs used in publicity; On becoming a member of Popstars it is expected that your child will be able to appear in all photographic records and media publicity used to promote your child and the Popstars group. All photographs and media publicity regarding the Popstars members and newcomers must be the responsibility of the Popstars Manager. If you have a problem with this please speak to the manger.

We have the following policies in place; The child protection policy, health and safety, first aid, equal opportunities and grievance.

All our members are vetted and we follow a full constitution. Please contact us if you have any queries.
