Rochdale Catenians
Rochdale Catenians meet every First Tuesday at 7.30 pm at the Royal Toby after 18 months of Zoom meetings. We are now operating hybrid meetings so that members can participate viz Zoom as well as in person. This is to help busy people keep commitments to a minimum while still allowing friendly contact with fellow members.
During the pandemic, we kept in touch also by running a weekly quiz and over the course of a year raised over £6,500 for the charity Target Ovarian Cancer. So, although fundraising is not our primary objective we do our best to help several worthy causes. This year we have raised over £1000 despite the pandemic, for Alzheimers and Cancer UK.
We have donated funds to help provide Rosary beads for secondary schools this year and also £1700 to provide transport for Holy Family school choir to go to the Royal Albert Hall.
We are hoping to get back to an active social programme as we emerge from lockdown with activities ranging from Barbecues through Wine tastings, Murder Mysteries, Walking, Theatre visits and Concerts.
