Rochdale Field Naturalists Society

Intro

Information:

Rochdale Field Naturalists have a yearly programme of events. In the months, September to April, there are indoor meetings with illustrated talks by professional speakers. These are held at Cutgate Baptist Church, Edenfield Road on the second Thursday of each month at 7.30pm. Cost £2 members £3 non members.

Throughout the year there are fortnightly outings which take place on Saturdays.

Once a month there is a coach outing and a local outing by car. All outings meet at the cul-de-sac at the bottom of Manchester Road, Rochdale, (opposite ASDA and Art Gallery).

Coach outings meet at 9.00am and cost £15 per person.
Local walks are by car, meeting at 10.00am, lifts are given to those without transport.

We hope, on our outings, to find something of interest for all our members, whatever the time of year: whether it be birds, flowers, trees, fungi, butterflies, insects or wildlife in general. Our walks are taken at a leisurely pace and range between 3 and 5 miles.

People new to natural history and those more experienced are welcome. No one needs to feel uncomfortable because they have little knowledge as in the group there are several knowledgeable members more than pleased to give guidance and advice.
