Wardle Village Church

Welcome to our Website

This Sunday 23rd September, which coincidentally is the Autumn Equinox, the official start of Autumn, is our Harvest Service. This will be led by Rev Rachel Battershell. Gifts of non-perishable food will be gratefully received as will donations which will be sent to the food bank and it will be a Family Service.

Dearnley Methodist Church celebrates its 150th Anniversary and the preacher will be Rev Canon Gareth Powell, Secretary of the Conference. In order to celebrate such a milestone we will join the congregations of Dearnley, Greenhill and Moorhouse on the 30th September. There will be no Service at Wardle on this day.

The following Sunday we will celebrate a milestone of our own. In 1993 the congregations of the Anglican Parish of St James the Apostle and Wardle Methodist Church joined together to share in Christ's Witness. That was 25 years ago. Our Service on the 7th October will be led by the Chairman of the Methodist District, Rev Paul Martin and The Bishop of Middleton, The Rt Rev Mark Davies.

Baby and Toddler Group continue to meet every Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9.30 am until Noon. For just £1 for adults and 50p for children you can enjoy activities, songs and refreshments.

Brownies meet upstairs every Monday evening at 6.30. Come along and join in the fun.

Slimming World meet every Thursday evening at 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm. For more information contact Rebecca on 07738052984.

Do you have a child or grandchild aged 3 years or over? Wardle Village Church now has a Sunday Club  with activities for children (aged 3 years and over) to include stories, singing and craftwork. Younger children will be very welcome in Church and the Service will be each Sunday at 11am. The Sunday Club will be held at the same time upstairs, starting and finishing in Church.

Wardle is a Local Ecumenical Partnership between Wardle Methodist Church and the Parish of Wardle and Smallbridge. Wardle Village Church has been a local Ecumenical Partnership since 1993, and its fully integrated congregation shares both Methodist and Anglican worship. We play a full part in both the Rochdale and Littleborough Methodist Circuit and District and the Rochdale Deanery and Diocese of Manchester.

Our purpose is to offer meaningful worship; (both traditional and modern) to encourage members to grow in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to be the body of Christ, witnessing to his love and grace in the area we serve.
