Castleton continue to have 2 teams in the Rochdale League and the A team is current League winners.The A team is captained by veteran player Neal Sharrocks who keeps the team going with his sly grin and encouraging words.John Ingham continues to shine and Elvet Smith has improved through regular practice on the club's splendid Victorian table with its new cloth and 3 inch bed of Welsh slate.Bill Schofield and Mark Davies made significant contributions to last season's league win.Frank Gac and Mark Birkin make up the team
The B team ably led by the efferveescent Alastair Hardman (also League secretary) has plenty of talent particularly Terry Jump the potter from Chadderton able to turn a game on its head with a big break at any time.More players have been added this season from the Bury League and the team has quite an impressive line up.Watch them fly soon!
There is also a Castleton team in the Bury league made up of Terry,Elvet, Alastair and Bill.John Dunwell former league secretary and Frank a snooker player have swelled numbers and we're looking forward to the new season
