Photography Competition - Faces and Places

Inspire Middleton is a small local charity working in Middleton who have just opened a photography competition called 'Faces and Places' which is aimed at telling positive stories about Middleton, its people or its places, through the use of photography.

All photographs submitted MUST be accompanied by a personal story.
The Competition is open to all and there is no entrance fee. 

There is often quite a lot of negative comment made about Middleton and Middleton people, yet at Inspire Middleton we take a different view and believe that there is a lot of good that can be said, and as such we would like to turn negative attitudes into positive ones. So, the aim of this photography competition is to give you the opportunity to tell positive stories about Middleton, its people and its places through the use of photography and your personal stories.

Categories:

• Faces - to capture the faces of people, or a person from Middleton who has inspired you, or encouraged you in your life. Please include consent signature.
• Places - to capture locations, buildings, or the heritage of Middleton that has inspired you in some way.

Age Groups:

• Children - under 16 yrs
• Young Adults/Students - 16 - 22 yrs
• Adults - 23 yrs +

There will be 6 group winners selected one from each Age range and from each Category.
From the 6 group winners an overall winner will be selected.

Group winners will receive a £20 gift voucher
The overall winner will receive a £40 gift voucher

A public exhibition of all the group winners along with a selection of the other entrants and stories will be arranged and announced with the competition winners in March 2010.
