Woollen Woods is a national event organised by voluntary arts Week. During the weekend the park will be filled with woollen creatures of all shapes and sizes. Visitors are invited to wander round the park and spot the creatures hiding in the trees and bushes.

The event is organised by Littleborough Arts Festival working with the Friends of the Park and Hare Hill House to engage schools, nurseries, older residents and community groups in creating all things woolly to decorate the park.

Hare Hill Park, a beautiful Green Flag Park, will be decorated with woollen creations made by local schools, nurseries, older people and community groups; there will be free workshops, pom pom decorating on Saturday and flower making on Sunday, both based in Hare Hill House, take your creation home or add it to the display in the park. We are very excited to be having a new addition to this year’s event, live sheep and lambs!

On Sunday local Folk Art Group, Oakenhoof will be entertaining us with their woolly shenanigans, including Maypole dancing around their crocheted Maypole and knitted Morris; Trevor the woolly hobby horse will be putting in an appearance and they will be decorating their own woolly Oakenhoof tree.

The Friends of the Park and Littlborough Library will be organising an Enid Blyton event and we will have our own Secret Faraway Tree in the park!

Light refreshments will be available in Hare Hill House on both days.

Toilets available in Hare hill House, one with disabled access.

The Park and House are both suitable for wheelchair access although some paths are steep.

This year we have a mascot Chunky donated by Thomas B. Ramsden & Co. of Bradford he is a crocheted chicken who is visiting various places in Littleborough on his way to the festival. An image is attached.
