Local carers can learn more about the advice, help and support they are entitled to as Rochdale celebrates carers’ rights day.

This year’s event, at the Royal Toby in Castleton, will be packed with useful information to help carers in their vital role supporting and looking after loved ones.

The event is being organised for the council by The Rochdale Carer’s Hub who offer support, advice and information to over 24,000 carers across Rochdale Borough.

Dozens of organisations will be on hand to provide information, financial help, advice on winter fuel savings, advocacy, and much more. Carers will also be able to net discounts on exercise classes and activities organised by Link4Life.

Information on carers’ assessments will be available and there will also be specialist support for carers who need help with their digital devices.

The event will start on a high note when the popular carers’ choir regale some classic songs from their wide-ranging repertoire.

Rochdale’s Carers’ Rights Day will be on Friday 24 November 9.30am-2pm at the Royal Toby, Castleton.
