Coffee Rockers organised by Home Instead are hosting a free monthly event to encourage elderly members of the Rochdale community, and especially those who may be lonely, to come along and meet new people.
The aim is to reach out to those who might otherwise not have the means or inclination to leave their homes.
Professional singer Ian Jenkins provided the entertainment at their first event and he was a hit as he mainly sang songs from the 1960s. He got the attendees singing along and dancing.
The feedback from the guests was very positive. One said, “it was fantastic” while another said they “loved it!” Other comments were: “I’d give it a 10/10”, and “I can’t wait for the next one!”
After the entertainment, a lovely buffet lunch was provided.
The next Coffee Rockers event is on Tuesday 4 September.
