Zen Internet gains quality assurance and information security re-certification

Date published: 02 February 2016

Zen Internet has gained 9001:2008 and ISO 27001:2013 re-certification for quality assurance and information security.

These externally audited re-certifications confirm that Zen’s business processes have been measured against best practice, and that its information security management meets the most stringent international standards.

Zen has now integrated the two standards, making information security a key element of its business processes rather than a separate requirement.

The remit of the re-certification process spanned the length and breadth of Zen’s organisation and a sampling of Zen’s UK data centres, involving 10 man days of auditing. The auditors observed the way Zen’s management, employees and systems worked in practice, and also examined company-wide processes such as their approach to complaints management, risk assessment and supplier management, ensuring that quality remains consistent throughout.

At the end of the process, the auditing team praised Zen for the company’s transparent approach, stating that the openness and honesty of Zen’s teams made the audit exceptionally positive and collaborative for all involved. Zen employees were also singled out for their commitment to improving processes, and for the way they clearly and genuinely valued Zen’s customers and wanted to do right by them.

Matt Kay, Finance Director at Zen, said: "Continual improvement has always been a key part of Zen’s philosophy.

"As with our commitment to customer service, our quality standards set us apart from competitors.

"These re-certifications don’t just validate that Zen is working effectively but fundamentally help us shape a roadmap of ongoing improvements.

"True, the auditing process can be stressful, but we see it as a chance to further improve the way we work based on external scrutiny and assessment. For us, it’s about a commitment to excellence in all we do."
