Date published: 06 September 2016

Tetrosyl chairman Peter Schofield will join a host of top businesses and public figures to discuss the growth opportunities for Rochdale at an Insider event.

The breakfast conference, Rochdale: Right Place Right Time, will take place on 21 September 2016 at Number One Riverside, Rochdale.

The car care product manufacturer’s chairman will be among the speakers discussing Rochdale as a base to grow after the company joined the likes of Asda and Source BioScience by investing in the borough.

Tetrosyl is in the process of relocating to its new £1m headquarters at Newgate House in Rochdale and Mr Schofield will discuss the reasons behind the move and the growth opportunities the company sees in the area.

Mark Lineker, general manager at TBA Protective Technologies, will also speak at the event. The protective products manufacturer is a long standing Rochdale company and Lineker will join other well-known local companies and public sector figures to assess how the borough can connect better with the rest of Greater Manchester and the North West.

Insider’s event will also examine how Rochdale’s public and private sectors must work together to facilitate growth and the improved transport infrastructure and facilities in the borough.

Connecting Rochdale with Greater Manchester will also be a key focus from Mike Blackburn, chairman of Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership. He will discuss the opportunities and barriers to Rochdale expanding its economy by working with Manchester city centre and its other boroughs.

Rochdale has seen significant development in recent years and plans are underway for a new £250m town centre to transform the borough’s offering. Rochdale Borough Council chief executive Steve Rumbelow will update attendees on the progress of the town’s latest developments and their benefits to the town’s economy.

Insider’s event will also assess key issues to Rochdale achieving its growth ambitions, including whether young people are being given the right skills to succeed in the borough’s companies.

Derek O’Toole, principal at Hopwood Hall College, and other education representatives will discuss how the college is connecting with the business community and how education provision can best target the area’s businesses.

The event’s headline sponsors are Rochdale Borough Council and Rochdale Development Agency, the event’s sponsor is Royal Bank of Scotland.

Rochdale: Right Place Right Time will take place from 7.30am to 9.15am.
