Littleborough's new Lidl store to open next week

Date published: 22 February 2019

The new Lidl supermarket in Littleborough will open its doors for the first time on Thursday 28 February 2019.

Around 40 new jobs have been created with the opening of the Stockton Street store, which features an instore bakery, customer toilets with baby changing and ample parking for both cars and bicycles.

The supermarket will be opened with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 8am by Mayor Councillor Mohammed Zaman and pupils from St Mary’s Primary School.

Lidl UK’s Regional Head of Property, Nick Harvey, commented: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Littleborough.

“It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving the local community.”

The store follows the opening of a new Lidl in Rochdale in 2016, and forms part of Lidl’s intentions to bring further stores to Greater Manchester.
