MID Communications achieves platinum accreditation for its people practices

Date published: 09 August 2019

Middleton-based MID Communications has achieved platinum level accreditation following a recent Investors in People (IIP) reassessment in June this year.

Since 1991, IIP has defined what it takes to lead, support and manage people well and after their recent assessment, MID Communications can now call itself one of the best employers for people practices in the UK.

The platinum accreditation reflects the work the business has put in since the last assessment, and overall commitment to managing people well and promoting high performance.

Very well respected and internationally recognised in business, the IIP accredation is not an easy one to achieve; only 2% of both international and UK businesses are accredited with platinum.

Danny Simpson, MID Communications CEO, said: “I am so proud of all our people and our efforts over the last 3 years. Any accreditation is amazing, it shows you are passionate about people, but to get platinum - wow.

“Not only is it amazing to be accredited with such a prestigious award, but the benefits to our business on the journey have been nothing short of fantastic. I would recommend any business to do this if you are passionate about growth, success and most importantly your people.

“Our goal is to be an employer of choice in the north west; a company who invests in its people, knowing that they are the heart and engine of any business success. If you have passionate people, with goals and determination, then anything is possible.”

Jenn Hulme, HR Director and Head of Stores, commented: “I am so pleased to be part of this great business; to be supported so fundamentally in the achievement of this fantastic accreditation really shows the quality and investment Danny makes in the people of MID Communications.

"I believe, if you put people at the heart of the business, engage, develop and motivate them to be better, then the performance will come.”

John Martin, Investors in People Business Development Advisor, said: "We are delighted for MID Communications who have achieved the prestigious Investors In People platinum award, which recognises high performance achieved through integrated people practices.

"Danny and Jen’s effective leadership style means the organisation is fully inclusive and collaborative and their dedication to creating a happy and healthy environment for their staff is exemplary. They should be extremely proud of their achievement.”

MID Communications are the largest O2 Telefonica franchise in the north west and join just 25 other businesses in the north of England as platinum.
