Free six-month pilot course to help self-employed after lockdown

Date published: 21 May 2021

A free six-month pilot course could help Greater Manchester’s self-employed get back on their feet after lockdown.

The EnterprisingYou programme offers advice from business experts, specifically tailored for self-employed individuals. Greater Manchester has been chosen to run this programme as a pilot, which could be rolled out throughout the UK.

The programme incorporates training opportunities to help boost skills, increase income, or help casual workers find alternative routes and roles which can offer greater stability.

Everybody who takes part in the programme has access to their own business coach, as well as being able to speak with an independent financial advisor, a professional health and wellbeing officer, and apply for fully-funded training on every aspect of business from marketing, finance, sales and social media to specialist courses.

EnterprisingYou is a product of the partnership between the Growth Company and PeoplePlus Enterprise. It was commissioned by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) with funding from the Department for Education (DfE).

To be eligible for the programme, you must be a resident of Greater Manchester; be earning under £27,000 per year; and have been trading for over four months.

To apply, please visit peopleplus.co.uk/enterprisingyou-grow-your-business or call 0161 507 6366.
