NHSPS and Middleton community raise over £6,000 for youth cancer charity

Date published: 31 May 2023

NHS Property Services (NHSPS) has raised more than £6,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer after organising a family fun day and cricket match in Middleton.

NHSPS colleagues from the Manchester region organised the event to fundraise for the property specialist’s current charity partner, generating a significant sum which will help them continue supporting young people currently undergoing cancer treatment.

The fun filled day included face painting, a bouncy castle, forest activities, hook a duck, funfair rides, and an ice cream van, topped off with a friendly game of cricket - igniting a sense of competitive spirit - with the Silly Sloggers taking the winners’ title.

The day was supported and hosted by Middleton Cricket Club, who worked with NHSPS to make the day a great success.

Rhea Horlock, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility for NHSPS, said: “We would like to thank the local community in Middleton for supporting our event, and also give a huge thank you to our amazing colleagues for creating this fantastic fundraiser for our charity partner, Young Lives Vs Cancer.

“We are currently in the third year of our partnership and continue to work towards our total fundraising goal of £150,000, with this event taking us a huge step closer to that number which is fantastic news.

“We look forward to working on more events to support Young Lives vs Cancer as our tenth year in business at NHSPS unfolds.”
