Rochdale AFC and Rochdale Online team up for business lunch

Date published: 10 July 2006

Rochdale AFC will be holding a Business Lunch on Friday 21 July in association with Rochdale Online. With the help of Rochdale Online, the football club are looking to emphasise the many business opportunities which will be available for the coming season.

Following major changes in the backroom staff at the football club, including the appointment of two new directors and the announcement that Chris Dunphy has taken over from David Kilpatrick as Chairman of the club, the recently appointed business development manager Simone Freeman has teamed up with Rochdale Online to provide this opportunity to introduce the new regime to local businesses.

The event takes place the day before the team take to the Spotland field for a high-profile friendly against Manchester City in what will not only be a busy week for Steve Parkin and his team, but also for the commercial department at the club.

The lunch will provide local businesses with the chance to see the business opportunities that the football club has to offer both on match days and in terms of sponsorship options. Guests will be given a tour of the stadium, one of the best in the lower leagues, and will be able to meet the manager ahead of the big match the next day, before being able to talk informally about business options at Spotland.

Rochdale Online Business Development Manager, Rod Barry, spoke of the relationship between Rochdale Online and the Football Club: “Personally I go back a long way with Rochdale Football Club and have always held them in high regard. I see exciting times ahead at Spotland and am looking to strengthen our ties with the football club to our mutual benefit.”

Simone Freeman said: “We are delighted to have teamed up with Rochdale Online as we look to reach out to businesses in the Rochdale area. In terms of the coming season we are confident of success for the club both on and off the field.”

The event takes place in the Horners Lounge at Spotland Stadium at 12.30pm, for a 1.00pm start. If your business is interested in attending the lunch, please contact Simone at Rochdale FC on 0870 822 1969 or Rod at Rochdale Online on 01706 523583.
