Local entrepreneurs celebrate International Women’s Week

Three local award winning business women came together in Rochdale to celebrate International Women’s Week.
Salon owner Jamilla Paul, Lisa Greenhalgh of Finlay Jude Associates, and Director of dBx Acoustics, Susan Witterick, all joined networking event to inspire attendees.
These three award winning women spoke out about their struggles and achievements on the road to becoming successful business entrepreneurs.
The event celebrated the achievements accomplished by local business women, providing inspiration for both aspiring and established entrepreneurs that attended the event. It marked the encouraging steps made by women in business, coinciding with International Women’s Week.
Jamilla Paul, who appeared as the big boss on MTV's Beauty School Cop Outs, fronts a multi award-winning team across two beautiful bespoke salons in Greater Manchester and was named Rochdale Business Woman of the Year 2013.
Lisa Greenhalgh opened up about her journey and the hard work and dedication that led her to winning Rochdale Business Start-Up of the Year 2013.
Susan Witterick inspired the room with her talk ‘From Depression to Downing Street’ highlighting the ways in which she has overcome personal challenges to become winner of Business Start Up of the Year 2013.
The event was run by Blue Orchid and Rochdale Council on Friday 7 March at Hopwood Hall College.
