GSG Carpets take on an enormous mansion carpet fitting

Date published: 26 June 2014

GSG Carpets have recently undertaken a huge order to fit a carpet at a mansion in Shropshire.

Sue Benson, owner of GSG Carpets, received a website enquiry from the £6.4 million property owner earlier this year.

GSG Carpets then made the two and a half hour journey to his home to measure up.

Ryalux advertise they make carpets 7m wide,  on this occasion they made them specially to fit the customers rooms with no joins.

  • Family room was 8.5m wide x 9.2m long and took eight men to carry into room.
  • Basement lounge 8.8m wide x 8.4m long
  • Bedroom was  6.8m long x 7.2m wide

All other rooms were also over size.

Sue said: “The owner of the property had told us that he had received quotes from other companies, which were cheaper than what we could offer him.

"However, he was impressed with our knowledge of the product, the timescale in which we could do it and the advice we gave him about the underlay, so he chose us.”

Sue described how the carpet had to be specially dyed and designed for the property.

GSG Carpets sent a team of their fitters, along with workers from Mr Snug Fit and Flooring Matters to help fit the carpets.

“It took eight men to carry one piece of carpet, so you can imagine how large this carpet was.”

The carpets took one week to fit, and GSG has recently been back to the home to fit another room.

The owner of the property emailed Sue and said: “We’re very pleased indeed with the final product. Your fitters are a credit to you. Not only have they done a superb job, but they were so careful and respectful of the property.”

Sue said: “The job couldn’t have gone any better.”
