Future is Rosy for Pretty Pink Couture

Date published: 10 August 2014

Just one year after opening, Pretty Pink Couture has been given the go-ahead to use the Made in Britain marque.

Pretty Pink Couture was set up in May last year by fashion designer Talena O'Brien and Gail Delaney, both from Rochdale. The company, based in Moss Mill in Woodbine Street East, specialises in bespoke occasional wear for children including bridesmaid, flower girl, communion, christening and party tutu dresses.

To achieve Made in Britain accreditation, a lengthy interview took place as well as a verification process to confirm that the business was genuinely manufacturing in Britain.

Gail explains: “It has been a fantastic few months. We design, manufacture and retail under one roof and as well as being proud to be based in Rochdale we are proud to be manufacturing British goods too. Now we have been approved, we can use the marque on our branding including swing tickets, labels and advertising and although our order books are bursting at the seams, we are sure this will help us grow the business even more.”

The business partners met when Talena came into Gail’s shop, Bows R Us, to book a birthday party for her daughter. They got chatting about the possibility of setting up a business selling fully co-ordinated outfits for special occasions for children and within days Pretty Pink Couture got off the ground. Now their order books are booked up months in advance with orders already in for Christmas and reservations for communion and bridesmaids outfits next year.
