Rochdale Online Business Exhibition

Date published: 25 September 2014

The Rochdale Online Business exhibition was extermely well received by local businesses and received lots of praise from exhibitors.

The exhibition, which is in its fourth year, saw over 40 local businesses exhibit in Rochdale Town Hall yesterday evening (Wednesday 24 September) giving them the chance to show off their products and services to other businesses and the general public.

At the event, exhibitors and guests were welcomed to the fabulous venue by Friends of Rochdale Town Hall member Pam Haigh. Pam helped direct those in attendance to the relevant rooms where exhibitors were and was responsible for signing people in to the event. She said: “We have seen a lot of people come. It has been very good. Everyone has been really pleased.”

Janine Rez from Queenie Beenie’s Crafty Cabin and Loopy Lou said: “It has been really good. We have been able to speak to a number of local businesses and drum up business with some of them. We have had a lot of interest from people here. We would definitely come along again.”

Stephen Dobson from Document XL Limited said: “It has been absolutely brilliant. We didn’t know what to expect but it has exceeded our expectations. We never would have met this many people in a month and to be able to meet so many people in one day has been brilliant.”

Catherine Machalinski from Prevail Accountancy said: “I really wanted to network with other businesses and make myself more known in Rochdale. It has been a really good opportunity to meet other people and talk to people.”

Jacqui Anderson from Investors in People said: “I am not very familiar with Rochdale so wanted to come along to promote Investors in People and make myself known in the area. I think it is a really good idea and events like this are really good to promote yourself and to get to know other businesses.”

As well as being supported by local businesses and residents, the exhibition was also attended by Mayor of Rochdale Carol Wardle, Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk, local councillors and Director of Economy and Environment at Rochdale Council, Mark Widdup.

Mayor of Rochdale Carol Wardle said: “It has been absolutely brilliant. It is great to see so many businesses coming together.”

Mr Danczuk said: “I think this is a really good event that has brought together businesses from across the borough. In a way it is a celebration of what the borough has to offer. I have spoken to everyone exhibiting and everyone has said how good it is. All credit to Rochdale Online for organising the event.”

Mark Widdup, Director of Economy and Environment at Rochdale Council said: “It has been a really good and positive event. It is bigger than last year and there are certainly more people here and that shows that people have confidence in the event.

“It has been really good to see all of the local businesses showing what they have to offer. This event is not just for businesses and local people to interact but it is important for the business to business interaction and that is something this event is really good for.”

Councillor James Gartside, who has attended all four business exhibitions, said: “It is definitely getting bigger and I think that is great. It is a really good event for local businesses.”
