Poundworld has created 30 new retail jobs at the opening of its first store in Rochdale

Poundworld created 30 new retail jobs at the opening of its first store in Rochdale on Thursday 3 September.

Situated on Yorkshire Street, the new store was officially unveiled to customers who formed early outside its doors before opening, becoming the 293rd store to open in the chain.

Area manager Kris Murphy said: “We’re thrilled to open our first store in Rochdale and we’re ecstatic with the response from shoppers. The reception has been incredibly friendly and positive. We had hundreds of shoppers through our doors in a matter of minutes after opening and thousands also visited us across the opening weekend.

“It’s fantastic that we’re able to create 30 new jobs for the town too.”
