Hopwood Hall College - progress with the best

Date published: 27 January 2018

Hopwood Hall College is inviting all prospective year 11 and higher education students to an open day at both its Middleton and Rochdale campuses on Saturday 3 February between 10am – 2pm.

It is a great opportunity to take a tour of the campuses and see why the college was awarded a ‘good’ rating by Education watchdog Ofsted in November 2016.

This means that even more learners are achieving their predicted grades, if not exceeding them.

Progress with the best

The college has over 200 16-19 study programmes on offer, 30+ apprenticeship frameworks, and is ranked one of the best in Greater Manchester. Recent achievements also include:

  • 85% overall achievement rate (3% above the national rate)
  • The highest achievement rate in Greater Manchester for vocational level two courses
  • Level three progress puts it in the top 10 in England
  • 92% satisfaction rating from higher education students
  • 100% pass rate on 127 courses
  • Bronze award from the Teaching Excellence Framework
  • Over 300 high grade distinctions awarded to students in 2017

Practical learning

If you have had enough of sitting in a classroom and you would like to learn through practical experience, a BTEC qualification at Hopwood Hall could be just what you are looking for.

Level three courses are equivalent to A Levels and are a recognised pathway to higher education at university.

Additionally, all students benefit from free gym membership, free breakfast, eight free bus routes and up to £30 bursary per week (terms and conditions apply).

Visit the Open Day on Saturday 3 February 10am – 2pm.

All attendees will have the opportunity to try out courses and apply on the day with help from tutors.
