Date published: 23 August 2022

Summer might be coming to an end, but there's still plenty of time to have fun before the kids go back to school as the last 'Summer Saturdays' event promises to be the biggest yet!

Throughout the summer, visitors to Riverside have enjoyed live performances, hundreds of children have had their face painted and met their favourite superheroes – and this Saturday (27 August) is your last chance to ensure you don’t miss out.

Live musical performances will take place at Rochdale Riverside and the Baillie Street Quarter from 1pm until 3pm.

Visitors can also enjoy face-painting and meet their favourite superheroes for a photo souvenir to last you until next summer!

Summer Saturdays

Paul Ambrose, BID Manager for Rochdale town centre, commented: “Throughout the year the BID team has implemented a programme of events and activations to improve the centre’s environments, footfall and spend.

“These included the Ale Trail, the development of the Baillie Street Quarter, Street Eat, The Artisan Market and additional planting along Cheetham Street and the installation of new hanging baskets throughout the town centre.

“Summer Saturdays helps to builds on people’s confidence to go out and invites people to enjoy a Saturday afternoon out in the town centre. After such a long period of disruption the BID team will continue to heighten the visitor experience.

“We hope everyone has enjoyed our Summer Saturdays and we look forward to seeing you all there.”
