Fundraiser launched for Yasin Khan after lung cancer diagnosis

Date published: 06 June 2017

A fundraiser has been launched to raise £30,000 for Yasin Khan, who was diagnosed with lung cancer in May.

The 44-year-old father-of-three from Rochdale was diagnosed after spending two months in and out of hospital with a chest infection.

Close friends, Nasser Afzal and Nasir Akram, launched the fundraiser for Yasin to help pay for alternative therapies and support his family.

Mohammed Sheraz, who worked with Yasin as a youth worker for over 15 years in Rochdale, said: “Yasin and myself spent many a night in youth hostels up and down the country. From the dizzy heights of Mount Snowdon to Cumbria or back flips on abseiling adventures, you name it, we did it.

“My heart and mind have been numb since receiving this news. He is a lovely, caring family man and I admire his resilience and dedication towards others.”
