Local slimmers complete ‘5k My Way’ at Hollingworth Lake

Date published: 22 June 2017

Local slimmers, who have lost a whopping 34 stone 3 lbs between them, laced up their trainers for two laps of Hollingworth Lake for the Weight Watchers ‘5k My Way’ challenge on Saturday 17 June.

Coach of six years Lisa Warwick and 16 of her members took on the 5k challenge by walking around the lake, with one member stepping it up a gear and choosing to run round the popular tourist attraction.

Lisa, who runs three meetings including one at Springhill Hospice, said the walk, which took them around an hour and 45 minutes, went ‘really well’ on the day.

She added: “I am so proud of my members coming together from all three meetings and doing this walk together. I want to shout loud and proud about them. The members who took part were of different ages and at different stages of their weight loss journey.”

Weight Watchers members nationwide were invited to make 17/18 June their 5k goal weekend as part of their fun approach to boost members’ activity, encouraging them to complete it ‘My Way’ by jogging, walking, cycling or swimming.
