Living Streets

Children have now received their first badge and are working towards their next one. Remember, walking for a minimum of just 1 day a week will earn them their badges.

Foundation unit assembly

On Thursday 9 November, we all enjoyed a fabulous assembly delivered by the Foundation unit. They have clearly been having an enjoyable time with their learning and their green screen production was particularly impressive.

Huge thanks to all the family and friends in attendance. As ever, it is always a privilege to come together and celebrate our amazing children. The Foundation Unit were awarded the Citizens of the week for an outstanding assembly showcasing all their fantastic work.

Maths Passports

We hope that children are continuing to work hard on their maths passports at home, as the raffle prize draw will be taking place in about 1 months’ time. For each objective passed, the children will receive 1 raffle ticket…the more raffles tickets in the draw, the more chance of winning. The prize is a shopping trip with Mrs Terry and Mr Moore, with £20 to spend on whatever the child wants. With a prize draw for EYFS /KS1 and KS2, all children should be working hard on these key recall facts.

Care Week

As parents are no doubt aware, our school motto is Care, Challenge and Fun. With this in mind, we will be holding 3 theme weeks across the year, with the first of these being Care Week starting on the 27 November. As part of this week, children will be learning how to look after themselves and others, including learning basic first aid and CPR. We will send out further details prior to the week, including details of parent sessions for First Aid and Wellbeing that have been organised.

Reading Destinations

Well done to all the children who have read at home this week. You have all helped your class to get closer to their destination. Mrs Elliott's class have already reached their destination of Germany -1442km. This means that they have read 5 times each and earned at least 50 kilometres for their class. They have had a present of new books for their class. More Destinations updates, next week.

Parents Meetings

It was a busy week in school last week with parent consultations taking place in every unit. Thank you to all parents/carers who attended. We really do appreciate the support and by working together, in partnership, we will secure the very best outcomes for our children. There will be further consultations in the Spring Term when, once again, parents and their child(ren) will have the chance to sit down and review targets, before setting new ones with the class teachers.

Questionnaire

Parent questionnaires were distributed during consultation meetings. Thank you to all parents who have already returned these and we would ask any parents that if they have not yet done please do return them ASAP. As always parents views are really important to us so can parents please take the time to complete these. Thank you.

Reading Consultant

We have once again been working in close partnership with our reading consultant this week. She worked alongside staff in all units, helping to further develop the reading at Hamer Primary School.
