Mia Linnik-Holden and Andrei Toader off to a fantastic start in 2018

2018 is off to a fantastic start for dancing stars Mia Linnik-Holden and Andrei Toader, who have added another championship title under their belts.

The Middleton duo, who were recently awarded Rochdale Online’s Sports Person(s) of the Year, won both the Junior Ballroom and Latin at the City of Manchester Championships 2018, hot on the heels of retaining their championship titles at the Champions of Tomorrow earlier this month.

Mia and Andrei recently beat international couples at the 2017 World Dance Nationals in Paris to become the world U16 Ballroom Champions, and placed 11th following a “very tough” semi-final in the U16 Junior Latin.

The talented teens, who are supported by Middleton Rotary Club, began their partnership in May 2015 and quickly rose to become champions in the U14 ballroom and Latin ranks.

Since then, Mia and Andrei have continued to rack up the junior titles, including retaining their champion statuses for the second year running at both the British Nationals and the North of England Junior Ballroom Championships, and placing as vice champions at the UK Closed Championships.

Mia began dancing at the age of six after asking her parents for lessons, and Andrei, who is originally from Romania, started dancing at the age of three.

They have less than 12 months left to perform as juniors.
