Power cut affecting 19,000 homes in Rochdale

Electricity North West are currently (10.30am Saturday 26 December) reporting a power cut for Rochdale: ‘A power cut in Rochdale is affecting 19,000 properties. Engineers hope to have the majority back on by 7.30pm.
Power is believed to be off in Norden, Bamford, Spotland, Newbold, parts of Rochdale town centre, Castleton and Deeplish.
Rochdale AFC tweeted: ‘We're now in complete darkness at Spotland. The local area has a power cut!’
Electricity North West: ‘This fault is due to damage to our equipment. Our engineers are aware of the problem. As soon as a team becomes available they will attend site and start repairs.
‘Our estimated time for restoration is 11:30 hours today. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the interruption to your supply and our engineers will work to restore your power as soon as possible.'
