New Premier store-based ‘Local’ style service to replace Ramsden Road Post Office

Date published: 13 January 2016

The present Wardle Post Office on Ramsden Road, Wardle will close at 12.30pm on Saturday 16 January 2016 and be replaced by a new ‘Local’ style service at the Premier store on Birch Road, opening at 1pm on Monday 18 January.

The new service will provide an open-plan counter in the store, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the till.

The new branch will be designed to Post Office guidelines to ensure easy access and that there is adequate space for wheelchair users inside. There will also be a hearing loop at the counter and all staff will be trained to Post Office professional standards of service and security.

Customers will be able to access the wide range of Post Office and mail services during the stores opening hours of 6am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Suzanne Richardson, Regional Manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”
