Falinge Park Engineering students win Building Bridges
Date published: 26 January 2016
Falinge Park High School Year 9 students were challenged to test their design and engineering skills against a team of students from the Al Khor International School, Qatar and took part in a live event.
Students had to design and build a bridge that would span as large a gap as possible AND carry a marble from one side to the other using only paper and masking tape.
It was great to be able to watch how the competition was shaping up over 4,000 miles away.
The teams from Qatar and Falinge showed fantastic team-working skills and the leadership talents of some students were obvious to all.
Falinge trailed behind Al Khor through every round until the final judgement when a design made by two Falinge Park Engineering students secured victory.
The students from Al Khor said they really enjoyed the event and have challenged us to a re-match. And Falinge Park High School has agreed to take part in another event.
