Spodden Valley – housing plans cancelled!

Countryside Properties has confirmed that they are NOT to build on one of the woodlands destroyed in May 2004 on the former Turner Brothers Asbestos site.
This particular part of the site was originally going to have 44 detached houses built on the land suspected of being a dumping site for deadly white asbestos fibres.
Jason Addy, from Save Spodden Valley said: “This is excellent news for all of us, and great encouragement for all the people that have bent over backwards in this campaign. This isn’t the end of the campaign, it’s not even the start, but it’s certainly set the ball rolling.”
