Terrifying ordeal for woman in her eighties as two men ransack bedroom
Date published: 05 February 2016
A woman in her eighties was subjected to a terrifying ordeal when two men broke in to her home on Rochdale Road, Milnrow.
The victim was alone in bed when the men entered her home by smashing their way through a back window between 9pm and 11.40pm on Monday 1 February.
They searched the house looking for valuables, before entering the victim’s bedroom and waking her up.
She tried to raise the alarm, but the men removed the telephone from her room and pulled a security intercom off the wall so she could not contact anyone.
They then ransacked the bedroom for valuables, before leaving via the broken rear window.
The offenders are described as standing at around 5ft 10in tall and wearing dark bubble jackets and light jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
