Faith share event between Golden Mosque and St Chad's Church
Date published: 08 February 2016
Golden Mosque hosted a faith share event on Tuesday 2 February together with St. Chad's Church.
The event was hosted by Head Imam of Golden Mosque Shaykh Shabbir Sialvi and was organised Reverend Sue Morgan and Nadia Khan.
The aim of the event was to celebrate the shared beliefs of the Islamic and Christian traditions, to break down barriers and create lasting connections with people of other faiths.
Reverend Sue Morgan, of St Chad's and St Mary's Church, and Nadia Khan presented a symbolic joint presentation to celebrate some of the shared beliefs which Muslims and Christians hold.
Guests from the church and mosque then discussed their faith with one another.
A spokesperson said: "The event was a success with positive feedback from all who attended.
"One guest said that it was the first time that she had had the opportunity to discuss her faith with someone of another religion.
"Guests also invited each other to future events including church and mosque coffee mornings."
