Body of elderly woman found in the canal in Littleborough

The body of an elderly woman has been found in the canal in Littleborough.
Police attended at the canal near to Walmsley Avenue at 10:40am today (Monday 22 February) following reports that a body had been spotted in the water.
The body of the elderly woman has now been recovered from the water and officers are currently working to establish her identity.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death at this time.
