An Asian man has been approaching children of secondary school age trying to engage them in conversation by asking them to "come here" or by asking for directions.
Police are asking parents to remain alert and vigilant after several such incidents throughout Rochdale in the past two weeks.
Information shared by the police with local schools says: "We are dealing with several incidents across the Rochdale division within the past two weeks whereby young people of secondary school age have been approached by an Asian male in a black Seat vehicle.
"The male tries to engage them in conversation by asking them to "come here" or by asking for directions.
"We need to ask pupils and parents/carers to be alert, remain vigilant and report any information to the police on the 101 non-emergency number."
