Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) joins Canal & River Trust to clean the canal
Members of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) joined with Rhys Wynne, Community Roots Project Leader of the Canal & River Trust, and other volunteers to clean the canal from Lock 50 to Milkstone Road bridge.
They found trolleys, bicycles, wood, bags, etc. in the canal.
They agreed to continue the clean-up in the coming weeks and also discussed to plant flowers, cut bushes, trim tree branches and improve the environment of both banks of the canal.
A spokesman for REAG said: "A large number of people use the passages and if flowers are planted and branches of the trees are trimmed it will make it more environmental friendly."
