Rochdale Canal at Sandbrook Park
Members of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG), working in co-operation with Rhys Wynne of the Canal & River Trust, have been cleaning the Rochdale Canal from Kingsway to Sandbrook Park.
They have collectied cans, bikes, trollies and waste food. Dog fouling is another issue.
Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, REAG secretary, said: "Rochdale Canal is a beautiful resource for Rochdale and must be kept free from pollution and contamination to protect its beauty, its water, birds and ducks."
