Friday 8 July

  • Dariusz Sokolowski (03/04/1997) has been charged with obstructing a constable in the execution of his/her duty and bailed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on 22 July
  • Mohammed Sameer (08/11/1990), from Rochdale, has been charged with driving a vehicle without a driving licence or insurance and bailed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on 29 July
  • Azizur Rahman (07/03/1991), from Rochdale, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A and bailed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on 12 August
  • A Rochdale man was arrested for attempting to pervert the course of justice and witness intimidation. Investigations ongoing.
  • Two men local to Middleton were arrested, one for burglary and fraud and the other for assault and theft. Investigations ongoing.

Thursday 7 July

  • Paul Turnbull (14/09/1994), from Rochdale, has been charged with breach of a restraining order and was conveyed to Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on Friday.
  • Police joined fire fighters and worked throughout the night to tackle a large blaze which ripped through The Amici Lounge in Littleborough. Officers are treating the fire as suspicious.

Wednesday 6 July

  • Tasja Huntley is warning women to be vigilant after she was followed from her home by a man trying to entice her into his car. Police are investigating.
  • Police officers and PCSOs conducting a traffic operation in Wardleworth seized two vehicles for having no insurance, reported 17 people for not wearing a seat belt and reported 16 people for using a mobile phone when driving. 

Tuesday 5 July

  • The roof of a double decker bus was ripped off after it crashed into a bridge on Joshua Lane, Middleton. Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the driver has been reported and that an investigation is underway.
  • Five day time burglaries were reported in Wardle/Littleborough in 24 hours. All were entry via smashing windows. Report any suspicious circumstances to police on 101.

Monday 4 July

  • Two burglaries reported on New Road, Littleborough over the weekend. Entry via smashing rear kitchen window. Any information ring 101 or crimestoppers.
  • Police are investigating a “deliberate and targeted attack” that has left a young man and woman in hospital with serious injuries. Officers arrived on the scene on Oldham Road to reports that a blue Citroen C4 had been seen driving into a white Ford Transit van before the van smashed at speed into a wall.
  • A man was killed following a collision on the M62. Shortly after 9.30am on Monday 4 July 2016, police received a number of reports of a collision just before junction 21.
  • A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a three-car smash on Elizabethan Way, Milnrow on Sunday night.

Saturday 3 July

Police are hunting a man wanted for a serious assault which left a woman with a fractured jaw and a bleed on the brain. Haider Ali (born 15/01/1995) of Royds Street West, Rochdale, is wanted for a Section 18 assault.
