Reward offered as super-glue rampage continues

Date published: 12 August 2016

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing is offering a reward for help catching the attacker/s responsible for super-gluing doors in Heywood.

Peter McHugh, RBH Responsive Repairs manager, said: “These incidents are causing enormous inconvenience to local residents and are putting the safety and health of vulnerable tenants at risk.

"There is also the significant cost to RBH of repairing the locks and doors; this money would be better spent on delivering services and improving our homes.

"If you have any information which might help to identify the culprit or culprits, please pass it on to local police and to RBH.”

Over 100 homes and garages have been super-glued shut in the bizarre rampage around the central Heywood area.

The mystery superglue attacker/s glued 37 front doors on Marlor Court, central Heywood on the same night, followed by an additional 45 homes and 25 garages which had Crown Road, High Street and South Avenue in the nights before.

Anyone with information should contact local police on 101, or the RBH Enforcement Team on 01706 273974, or report anonymously to Crimestoppers on freephone 0800 555 111.
