Sneak thief strikes in Norden
Date published: 23 August 2016
GMP
A resident in Norden fell victim as a thief ‘sneaked in’ through an unlocked rear door into the kitchen and stole vehicle keys and made off in the vehicle with an accomplice.
A property in Freehold was entered in similar circumstances and a tin containing money was stolen.
Opportunistic thieves were on the prowl trying vehicle door handles last night on Thomas Watson Hill, Wardle. Please be vigilant if you live there or the surrounding streets.
Please ensure your windows and doors are locked when you leave the room AND double check your home is secure before you go to bed each night.
Please ensure your vehicle is locked and secure – take your keys and store in a safe place.
Ensure keys are hidden in your house and keep them away from your doors so they cannot be snagged by the ‘hook and cane’ method.
