Smithy Bridge level crossing failure
The barriers at Smithy Bridge level crossing have malfunctioned for the second time in under a week - the barriers were open but lights still flashing on Tuesday afternoon.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “A piece of electrical equipment failed at about 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon(23 August) which meant that the level crossing failed.
"The issue was resolved within around 10 minutes and the level crossing resumed normal working.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience that anyone may have experienced as a result.”
