St Andrew’s, Dearnley

Date published: 20 September 2016

Our musical friends from Wigan, who have renamed their five-piece band, 'Dukes Road', will be making a return visit to St Andrew's on Saturday, October 15.

In their various guises --- the last time they came they were called 'Gifted' ---- they've entertained us three times previously and they've proved a hit on each occasion.

They will be putting on a Retro night, concentrating mainly on popular music from the 60s and 70s --- and if previous visits are anything to go by, some of you -- not all -- will be rocking in the aisles before the night is out.

The band comprises of Tony Bostock (guitar, keyboard, vocals), Mike Conley (vocals and acoustic guitar), Jamie Harrison (lead vocal and bass player), Mike Nash (lead guitar) and Keith Claxton (drums).

Of the five, Mike Conley and Mike Nash will be making their first visits to St Andrew's.

Doors will open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start and tickets are available now, priced at £6 including supper, from either Ada or Janice in Church or you can ring Ada on 01706 536143. We will also have a pay bar.

Please make a special effort to attend, not only to provide much-needed funds for Church but also to support the Five Likely Lads, who are coming all the way from Wigan at their own expense to put on a show for us.

The band is charity-based with sponsorship which enables it to work on the principle that all money raised on the night will go to St Andrew's.
