Middleton Police Station Public Enquiry Counter proposed closure

Date published: 23 September 2016

Middleton Police Station’s Public Enquiry Counter is one of ten across Greater Manchester which is proposed to close.

The proposal comes as Greater Manchester Police (GMP) says many Public Enquiry Counters (PECs) are low in demand across the region.

GMP is running a survey until 26 September (Monday), allowing the public to provide feedback on the proposals.

This does not mean the police station is closing. Members of the public will still be able to visit the police station for pre-arranged appointments or attend neighbourhood clinics.

PEC opening hours are also proposed to change from current 8am - 11pm Monday to Sunday to 8am - 8pm on weekdays and 10am - 6pm on weekends.

Rochdale Police Station PEC is proposed to remain open.
