Disused restaurant destroyed by fire

Firefighters were called at midnight Sunday 25 September to the former Tapios restaurant in Bowlee
Tapios, the former Mediterranean restaurant on Heywood Old Road, Bowlee, between Middleton and Heywood, has been destroyed by fire.
Firefighters were called at 12.20am on Sunday (25 September) and were on the scene until 10.00am Sunday morning.
Fire engines from Heywood, Blackley and Whitefield stations attended, along with a hydraulic platform from Oldham.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters used four jets, two breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a platform and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze.”
The cause is unknown.
