Repairs to Milnrow and Newhey drains begin
Date published: 21 October 2016
Flooding in Milnrow
Work to improve the drains across Milnrow and Newhey is now under way and is expected to take around a week.
It is understood no roads will be closed whilst the repairs take place around Kiln Lane. Dale Street will be explored and possibly repaired. Both roads have systems that allow the drains to empty into the River Beal.
Local councillor Andy Kelly said: “Both roads have gully systems that empty into the Beal, which is simply not happening fast enough. I’m hoping this remedial work will sort it out.”
