Hedgehog Rescue Rochdale at Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre
Date published: 22 October 2016
Hedgehog Rescue Rochdale was at Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre on Saturday (22 October) to raise awareness of the organisation, which was started in late 1991 with the discovery of a very underweight young hedgehog.
There was a tombola stall to raise money as they need 25 tins of tinned cat or dog food per day throughout the year.
Families also took advantage of sunny autumn weather with walks, children playing on the playground, picnics and ice creams.
Hedgehog Rescue Rochdale gives talks to schools, children's groups and adult organisations about hedgehogs and their work at the sanctuary and its adoption and sponsorship schemes are very popular, particularly with children.
