Philip Barrett elected Vice President of The Agents' Association

Date published: 28 October 2016

Local businessman Philip Barrett has been elected Vice President of The Agents' Association (Great Britain).

Phil commented: “After being in the music business all of my life, and the last twenty-five years as an agent and manager with Rochdale-based Music Business Management, I consider this to be a great honour. It’s the industry equivalent of receiving an OBE”

The Association was established in 1927 to represent and enhance the interests of entertainment agents in the UK who were willing to be bound by a strict code of conduct and professional ethics.

The Association’s role within the industry is both highly visible and greatly respected and it is frequently consulted by Government departments on an official basis and has an extensive membership of agencies throughout Great Britain whose business activities cover virtually every field of live entertainment, handling performing artists and booking throughout the pop and rock music industry, television, film, radio, recording, theatre, musicals, cabaret, clubs, cruising and corporate and outdoor events.

The National Council of Management is elected from the membership and is made up of some of the most highly respected, and knowledgeable agents in the entertainment industry.
